What is the Nonprofit Sector Partnership?

Sector partnerships are dynamic relationships built between local industries, labor markets, and education systems, aimed at driving economic growth and aligning education with industry needs. These partnerships are led and shaped by the business members of a target industry who actively participate in developing an agenda that addresses specific workforce and education needs.

Sector partnerships have existed for for-profit industries for decades, but the benefits of collaboration, mutual support, and the sharing of best-practices has the potential to greatly benefit the nonprofit sector as well.

Spearheaded by the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, this grant-supported partnership aims to unite nonprofits from across Northern Colorado for a stronger, more connected, and more resilient nonprofit sector.

OUR WORK SO FAR

The Nonprofit Sector Partnership seeks to ensure that the nonprofit sector in Northern Colorado is a strong and collaborative group that improves the wellbeing of our communities. The partnership is committed to aligning regional nonprofits to come together and work on identified issues in collaborative ways, leveraging collective strengths and connections to define and lead the work of the sector.

In the sector partnership model, business leaders define and lead the work. In this sector partnership, nonprofits are the business leaders. They drive the discussion, set the agenda, and identify common priorities for action that impact the overall success of the sector. These leaders should be decision-makers who are passionate about our industry and about Northern Colorado. Public partners are the support team, made up of funders, education, workforce development, and economic development leaders.

A sector goal is to create a comprehensive list of CEOs and Executive Directors from the nonprofit sector in Larimer and Weld Counties. Early efforts created a significant list but there are still nonprofits yet to be identified and engaged in the work. Sign up below if you are a nonprofit leader in our region and would like to join the partnership.

We worked with the following organizations to further build our distribution list:

Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming

Bohemian Foundation

Chambers of Commerce from Greeley, Loveland, and Fort Collins

Community Foundation of Northern Colorado

United Way of Larimer County

United Way of Weld County

Weld Community Foundation
